COMPANY BACKGROUND/CULTURE

CerroZone, LLC is a startup company that has developed a new product in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.  CerroZone is a device in the indoor air quality industry that has proven it is capable of 99.97%+ reduction of live COVID-19 virus in a single pass. FDA 510(k) status will be achieved for the products.

CerroZone is owned by Marmon Plumbing & Refrigeration, a part of Chicago-based Marmon Holdings, Inc., a Berkshire Hathaway company. Marmon Holdings is a global industrial organization comprising 11 diverse business sectors and more than 120 autonomous manufacturing and service businesses.

The company will be based in the St. Louis MO area and will have 50+ employees to begin.

SUMMARY

The Director of Sales for CerroZone is charged with developing and growing the market for CerroZone.  This is to be done in a manner that maximizes return, with a focus of achieving the goals of the organization.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, establishing sales performance objectives and public relations. We are looking for a driven, self-starting candidate that will have polished communication and analytical skills to effectively communicate the efficacy of our technology.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement strategic growth programs to ensure achievement of acquiring customers and meeting or exceeding sales targets and other company objectives.
  • Develop a sales strategy on a quarterly/annual basis to drive sales growth of products.
  • Lead, motivate, and coach the sales team to meet and exceed sales revenue plans and provide the highest level of customer service.
  • Advocate globally for the efficacy of our products and technology.
  • Direct the face-to-face customer sales call to develop and deliver new sales growth.
  • Conduct VOC exercises and provide input to engineering for new product development.
  • Develop and utilize relationships to build a reliable and consistent market intelligence network. Keep current with industry standards and knowledge by attending trade shows, seminars and conventions.
  • Plan travel to maximize visibility with key accounts, while managing costs.
  • Maintain regular communication within the company.
  • Recruit, onboard, and train high-performing employees to achieve business objectives.
  • Demonstrate ability to lead people and get results individually and through others.
  • Interface with senior management to accurately budget expenses and forecast future revenue, trending and actual sales activity. Prepare and present proposals and presentations as needed to senior leadership
  • Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews to improve quality of service and find new sales.
  • Oversee inside sales/customer support functions.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability, and environmental conditions required. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Sales experience of a technical product or medical device, especially in a start-up.
  • Proven experience in a managerial role. Technical skills in strategic planning, sales planning and successful B2B sales achieved.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities. Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and duties.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels, respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, ability to effectively present information to management.
  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably in business or a technical field or the equivalent combination of education and experience of 10 to 15+ years of experience selling in a technical product or a medical device or in the indoor air quality industry.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain sales plans. Determine the proper business to solicit and to accept based on the best interests of the organization.
  • Manage all sales related expenses, with a goal of using financial resources as judiciously and efficiently as possible. Monthly or quarterly reviews of individual expenses, by key category, will help control costs and judge if expenses are being utilized in the most efficient manner.
  • Maintain regular contact with all support functions that affect the business; customer service/sales administration, credit, etc. Having established relationships in place allows all parties to do their jobs and defines roles for the completion of key support tasks.
  • Experience and proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to represent CerroZone in a professional manner.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Work with a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work flexible hours.
  • Travel as required. Overall travel requirements could be up to 30% of the time considering operational requirements and sales calls.
